A few weeks ago, Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi managed to impress everybody with their amazing MiMix handset, considered by several tech authorities as one of the best looking smartphones ever made. However, it had a big minus…
Yes, we’re talking about the size. With a 6.4″ display, covering almost the entire front, it’s very hard to use with one hand, even for those with pretty big hands. However, Xiaomi might have some good news for you.
A MiMix for the masses!
Even though the limited amount of handsets that was initially made available is already sold out, it seems that those who want the Xiaomi MiMix will soon have the chance to get it, but with a 5.5″ display, says GSMArena.
A couple of images with the smaller version of the smartphone, codenamed Nano, was spotted on Weibo and already managed to create a lot of buzz. It’s obvious that a more compact Xiaomi MiMix is way easier to handle and if it will indeed be released, it has all the chances of becoming a hit.
Besides the 5.5″ display, which will most likely rock a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, it should be powered by a Snapdragon 821 chipset, with a quad-core configuration, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of native storage.
There’s shouldn’t be any changes in terms of camera either, the handset retaining the 16 MP snapper, with an f/2.0 aperture and electronic image stabilization, phase detection autofocus and dual-LED flash. Also, on the front, we’re expecting to see the same 5 MP camera as on its older brother.
Come on, Xiaomi, don’t let us wait that much…
Right now, there’s no word on when we might see this Nano version of the Xiaomi MiMix, nor any information about the price range. Even more, we cannot guarantee that these images are authentic, so our recommendation is to take everything with a pinch of salt, at least until Xiaomi makes an official announcement about a possible launch date.
