Nokia is planning back to bring back the almighty 3310 at this year’s Mobile World Congress and the latest rumors are claiming that we could actually see a handset rocking the same form factor as the most iconic feature phone of all times!
According to PhoneArena, HM Global, the company that currently owns the Nokia brand, is planning to revamp the phone, but don’t expect a high end camera or any special features, since the new Nokia 3310 will remain a feature phone, but with a few minor updates, making it usable in 2017.
Sticking to the famous form factor
And these specific updates were revealed by Evan Blass, also known as @evleaks! It seems that this new Nokia 3310 will run on the Series 30 interface, but will come with a color screen and various options to choose from, when it comes to the body. Remember who you could swap faceplates back in the days? Well, you will be able to do the same this with this new model as well!
The same source mentions that the phone will actually be a combination of the old 3310 and the Nokia 150, one of the company’s latest feature phones, revealed in 2016.
Battery for days
Of course, the biggest advantage of this upcoming handset will definitely be the battery life, who will last for a few days, at least! Nothing about this was mentioned yet, but we won’t be surprised if this phone will actually last for a whole week!
We’re looking forward to MWC 2017, since it will be very interesting to see a phone that marked an entire generation (and not only) making its return. Also, we’re definitely curious about how the market will receive the new, 2017 version, of the Nokia 3310!
