Those times when BlackBerry was one of the top smartphone manufacturers on the market are now history, but recently, the Canadian company announced that they’re done with making phone. Still, this doesn’t mean that their brand won’t keep living! On the contrary, we’re going to see a couple of new BB handsets in a few weeks.
Something interesting is on the way!
According to GSM Arena, TCL, known for making the DTEK 50 and DTEK 60 models, is now the only global manufacturer and distributor for future BlackBerry-branded smartphone and just announced that they’re planning to unveil “an evolutionary first in the mobile industry”, during January’s Consumer Electronics Show.
“We’ll unveil more news at CES around our plans, showcasing the legacy of the BlackBerry smartphone brand, while also giving a glimpse into what new BlackBerry smartphones will offer as part of our bold new brand portfolio within TCT,” said Steve Cistulli, President and General Manager for TCL Communication.
Could this be the ‘savior’?
Ok, we must admit that this statement, made through a press release, is more than just interesting and we’re eagerly waiting to see what they’re up to. Who knows, maybe this device will put BlackBerry back in the top.
CES 2017 is set to open its gates on January 5, in Las Vegas, and it will last until January 8. Of course, all top manufacturers are also expected to make new announcements during the four days!
