As previously reported, we’re looking forward to seeing the first details about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 making the rounds online in the near future, leaked images included. And it looks like we finally get the chance to make an idea about how the device will look like, thanks to a case manufacturer!
Ghostek posted an image with a case for the S9, which might give away enough information about the South Korean manufacturer’s flagship for 2018. The handset is expected to make its official debut one day before the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, during a special keynote, says PhoneArena.
A very early release for 2018?
If Samsung returns to their old tradition, we might as well see the Galaxy S9 making its debut on February 25. On the other side, let’s not forget about the manufacturer’s desire to compete with Apple and be one step ahead of it competitors relying on Android, so we won’t be surprised if the handset is released in January.
Back to the render, it shows a change to the positioning of the rear-facing fingerprint scanner, as well as a new camera setup, with two sensors.
This year, they have received several complaints regarding the position of the scanner, next to the camera, since users were supposed to blindly try to find it and leaving fingerprint smears on the camera lens. If this design is accurate, is definitely a big plus for Samsung!
Only dual setups for flagships!
Otherwise, it seems that the Galaxy S9 and S9+ will be the first phones in the Galaxy S series to feature two cameras on the back. And yes, the 3.5mm jack looks like it’s still there, making Samsung fans very happy.
It’s worth mentioning that this render shouldn’t be taken for granted, as it happened before to see a presumed design of a flagship, but in the end it turned out to be just a fan-made render.
